Nepal Day Nine: Ngozumpa Glacier*

Gokyo – Ngozumpa Glacier

SATURDAY 23 NOVEMBER 2013
DAY NINE (GU)

  • Walked up a hill in Gokyo to see Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas and a large persistent body of ice, according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nguzumpa_glacier. It was huge and beautiful. Moving. We heard some rocks fall down. A very short walk worth going up.
  • Met Andrew Nguyen, 20yo Vietnamese-American student from Boston. He had spent about a few months in Kathmandu and chosen to trek in Everest Region instead of Annapurna like his classmates.
  • P’Bee, Sai, Pasang, Andrew and I brushed our teeth in front of a camera (held by the lodge owner, Fuji??, who also prepared warm water for us) together before going to bed. LOL. Good activity! Clip’s available!
